I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Critical Studies Division of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. I am the Digitization Coordinator of the Media History Digital Library, and I collaborated with David Pierce and Wendy Hagenmaier on building the project’s website. Prior to beginning my doctoral studies, I worked for a major Hollywood talent agency, assisted the amazing Miranda July, and earned a M.F.A. in the University of Southern California’s Peter Stark Producing Program.
My articles on media, culture, and law have appeared in Cinema Journal, The International Journal of Learning and Media, World Policy Journal, Jump Cut, and Film History. Right now, I am completing my dissertation, Hollywood Vault, which explores how changes in markets, technologies, and intellectual property law have transformed the value of the content libraries owned by the Hollywood studios. You can download my complete CV here.
I currently live in Northern California with my wife and two small children. When I’m not writing, programming, or parenting, I like to jog, read, and watch baseball and old movies.
